Just passed my 2500th work unit :) and got this e-mail from seti:

Dear Ai3x,

Congratulations on recently completing your 2,500th SETI@home workunit. Through your support, SETI@home has grown to become the largest distributed computation on Earth. We at SETI@home greatly appreciate the 1.45 years of computer time you have donated to the project, and hope that you will continue your support. As a small token of our appreciation, you may now download and print an official certificate stating your achievement of this goal, available at:

http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/...b1@virgin.net&cmd=print_cert&certnum=4&size=0

Thank you again for your contribution.

Sincerely,

The SETI@home Team

I though it was really nice! Has anybody else had somthing like this or is it a new feature?

Ai3x :)

I'm thinking you only get the e-mail from SETI if you joined after a certain time. The only mail I've ever gotten from them is my password.

I'll have to see if I get one in a little bit since I'm sitting on 2499 wu right now. I could hit 2500 at any time and after that I'm chasing you down.;):)

Congrats on the milestone.

boooohooooo....after almost 14,000 wu's I didn't hear squat from them. :( The only time they sent me an email is when they moved to the 3.03 client. They asked me to stop submitting results with the 3.0 client. Bahhhhh I procrastinated that because at the time I had about 40 pc's running seti 3.0.

Guess they know they have us old timers hooked already, LOL.

I think it's something they started earlier this year, 'cuz I don't remember getting anything like during the year of 2000. :(

Still, it is quite nice - and I wish you "Congratulations on your 2,500th work unit" as well. :)
