I have a 128mb "irock!" mp3 player from 2 years ago. I pulled it out again just recently because my newer mp3 player simply won't connect via USB. First off, the irock won't let me format the drive, gives me an error during a normal format. However, I could successfully use "quick format." Also, at a certain point when filling the dive up, it will act weird, freeze up, and delete all my files! and sometimes just plugging the drive into the usb cord will delete all the files if there are any!

I was wondering if maybe the flash drive inside the irock is currupt? is it fixable? what about my newer mp3 player - the one that won't connect to the computer via usb (shuts itself down and won't turn on whenever it's plugged in.) Do i have crap luck with mp3 players or what?

Most Flashdrives, like your mp3 players, requires FAT16 to be formatted. As for the one that shuts down, it probably have bent or bad connector which causes it to short or incorrectly connect. Does it do it also on a different unit.
