i dunno how they sound compared to the ones u chose, but i've heard great things about these

i'd love to shake the place... unfortunately i'm in an apartment, so for the time being trying to be considerate of the neighbors... till they piss me off :p

Both Aperion and AV123 have risk-free trials on those speakers mentioned. They'll both pay return shipping on them if you don't like them. You could order both and then demo them and decide which ones you like better and then build the system around that set.

EDIT: of course that would require both of them being in stock :p (depends on which finish you'd choose for the X-LS)

AV123 has never done me wrong. I have the X-Sub and some now-discontinued speakers (Rocket ELT-LRS).

I, too, would get a sub before I got a center channel. I live in an apartment also. The X-Sub is pretty small and doesn't really shake the place but does help a lot with filling in the low end.

id get a sub before the center. The subwoofer doesnt have to shake the apartment if you dont want it to. If you set it up correctly, it wont be much of a problem unless you are cranking up the volume. Even in the case without a subwoofer, the bass from your speaker will penetrate the walls of your apartment anyways at high volumes.
