Is this memory registered or not?

anything that is unbuffered is also unregistered. a64's used to require registered memory, but now you have to you unbuffered. that hyperx should work in about any newer AMD 64 motherboard.

Click the Guides tab (at top of page), the CPU/chipsets tab, or the ever-popular System thread for examples of plain old PC3200 that work fine.

Also you can usually download the motherboard manual in PDF form before you buy it, from (companyname).com.tw -- don't forget the .tw, squatters have stolen the .com versions from many companies.

Socket 940 (Opteron, first gen FX chips) required registered RAM.

Socket 754 requires unbuffered RAM operating in single channel.

Socket 939 requires unbuffered RAM and operates in dual channel.

Yeah, you only need to worry about registered RAM if for some odd reason you bought a Socket 940 FX-51 or FX-53 (this is available in S939 too, though).
