Hi all. my main rig is is an Asus P4P800 Deluxe with a P4 3ghz Northwood w/800fsb. It is running 2 sticks of PC2700 in dual channel which is running at 320mhz cuz of the FSB. Anyway, im looking to get the right speed RAM so I can utilize my system to its fullest potential but dont want to spend a fortune untill the next big upgrade. I figure this system can last a while more. Anyway, what I want to know is if THIS RAM is any good.

Thanks,

MLM

If you don't plan on any overclocking, it should be fine.

I've installed some in a client's computer - from what I saw, they don't have much overclocking ability, but they perform as advertised. CAS2.5 1gb PC3200 for cheap 😉.

I've had great results with overclocking Crucial value ram - and at pretty good timings too.

But if you have no plans on overclocking, that ram is probably the best route for you for its price.

For a 1GB kit of cas 2.5 ram this seems like pretty decent stuff, My little bro is using 2x 1GB PC3200 dimms from PDP systems in his A64 rig and altho it doesn't overclock worth crap, it runs fine at 2.5, 3, 3, 10 and it's only rated at cas 3, so for the money I'd give it a shot.

Nice price, don't know about the company though. $10-12 more can get you some PQI Turbo 1Gb (2.5-3-3-7).. PQI is an offbranch of a big company, nothing is coming to mind right now though 🙁 If you're going to be running at stock speeds the PDP looks fine..

Actually I went with This ram as it had a better CAS. Should I put on heatspreaders? I had then on my PC2700 and could remove em and pop em on these, is that a wise idea? The mem works great, I already see a marked improvement.
