**Unable to find answer with SEARCH function**

A family member just bought this Link 12x10x32 Retail Lite-On. However, she told me the box shows a picture of a generic CDR drive with no info on it. In addition, the actual drive does not say Lite-On on it anywhere, just 12x10x32 "Burn Proof".

This did come with manuals, software, and IDE cable, but why does it seem so genaric?? When I purchased a 24x Lite-On the box had an actual picture of a Lite-On 24x drive and the CDRW actually has Lite-On labled on it. (could this be a rebadged Plextor??) TIA

That is not a Lite-On drive because Lite-On drives ship with Smart Burn Technology. I'm not sure what drive she got, but it could be a Samsung or Mitsumi. Hope this helps.

I highly doubt that :p

site says itsa LTR-12101B(probably a rebadged/OEM). is it installed in her comp? if it is it would show in the DeviceManager under CDRom what it is. Nothing wrong with rebadged/reboxed Liteon here.

Not installed yet, I'm going to give her a hand with it.. Yeah, after a little research I'm not too worried about it being a rebadged. Although, it was just the idea of it possibly being OEM that bothered me. (Advertised RETAIL on site)

Thanks
