I ordered a Linksys WRT54GL since my old Linsys BEFW1154 has been acting up lately (randomly goes down and requires reset to get internet back).
Now I am not a networking Genius or anything but I have installed at least 20 routers almost identical to this one. This WRT54GL has been a huge pain though. After setting it up it will not connect to the internet. I tried using the CD install about 6 times following the directions exactly. It goes through the whole setup and when it checks for internet connection it cant find it.
When I plug my cables back into the old Linksys router it works right away. I have tried releasing and renewing the IP dozens of times. Could this have something to do with my old router and my computer mac address?
