Im kinda pissed. I'll still pay the $210. I was just looking at it about to end and within 4 seconds it pops up 30 bucks

Yea, they can't know your maximum. If you didn't get it for 210, they would have. Sniping is just annoying anyway, if people used proxy bidding correctly, this wouldn't be a problem.

Yea, its normal for that to happen. Example. Your max bid is 210. Auction currently at 207. $1 increments. Other guy bids $210. His bid goes in 208, yours 209, his 210. That is a very basic example, but thats how it works.

I'm guessing that the OP thinks that someone hacked ebay and found out what his maximum bid would be. Then that person shilled the bidding up to the OP's maximum.

I've had the exact same happen to me (except I was the sniper), it's just a coincidence. It's also one instance where sniping actually causes you to lose the auction, since you placed your bid earlier!

There's nothing to report to ebay, you and the other bidder just came to the same conclusion about how much they wanted to spend on that NDS.
