I applied to a Logistics position a couple weeks ago, and got an email back from the recruiter wanting to set up a phone screen interview next week. The job is at the Corporate HQ of a large retail chain. I applied to a lot of positions in bulk, so I had to take a second glance to familiarize myself with the job requirements. Here's the list of what the job entails:
Job Title: Logistics Development Analyst
Responsible for analyzing, documenting, training and developing refinements to every day job processes in the Logistics division. Key to success is ensuring that systems are utilized to their full effectiveness. Responsibilities include creating effective process maps and training materials, conducting user training, partnering with IT in the development of systems, and performing other responsibilities as assigned.
An understanding of the fundamentals of inventory management, transportation, distribution, or financial control is required. Must possess an aptitude to understand a variety of software applications and have intermediate knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Strong communication skills, analytical abilities and attention to detail are essential. A minimum of one year Logistics experience or two years experience as a trainer, retail or industrial analyst is also required. A Bachelors Degree is preferred.
-----
The thing is, I don't have Logistics experience. My Bachelor's Degree is in Business Information Systems, and my sole job experience is Managing a Retail Location for the past 5 years (3 years while in school, 2 out of school). The position does look interesting, but I'm worried that I might not be qualified for the position. Should I continue to pursue this?
