It is an office type job. The thing is it only pays $10.64 an hour and I have to drive an hour and 10 minutes to get to it. Plus I have to pay $60.00 a month for parking. What do you think?

$10.64 * 40 about $425 a week gross. That's $1700 a month gross. $60 a month parking plus estimate 5 gallons of gas per day. That's $15 in gas each day or about $300 in gas each month.

$1700 might get you a take home of $1300. $60 parking plus $300 in gas... that leaves about $940 a month.

That sucks man... I get 10/hr, but free parking. And it's only 10 minutes away. Umm... I'd take it if I was running on empty.

you're better off just getting a job that pays less, but is closer to home even (no parking as well that is)

you even have to pay for parking? wow

In downtown areas of most cities you have to pay for parking. $60/mo is pretty reasonable. People sell parking spaces in my building for thousands.

I had a job 30 mins away making $11/ hour... Now I have one 5 minutes away, making $5.15 an hour (with no taxes)... I come home for lunch as well... I don't really notice much a difference in profit...

I also drive a car that gets 15-21mpg... and ate out most days (at my other job).

Interesting Cobra99. My car gets 18-20 highway, and that is what it would be is highway milage. I spent today looking for another job, but came up short on it. I'll keep on keeping on until something comes up right.

Thanks guys.

You have to remember to put the milage/wear and tear of your vehicle into consideration. Let say 1 hr 10 minutes = 60 miles or 120 miles per day = 600 miles per week.

I think the average milage cost is about 35 cents per mile <correct me if I am wrong>. Just a head up. If you don't have a job, get this one to pay the bills then look for another one closer to home with more money and no parking fee.

One more thing, the time it takes you to drive to work and back will take a toll on you too. Almost 2.5 hours to get to work and home will get old soon. Good luck.
