I currently have the kit lenses and the Pentax smc DA 50-200mm F4-5.6 ED for my K100D. Im still fairly new to the DSLR game.
and on a pentax it would be a 42 mm equivalent. it's almost exactly normal. a normal lens on a 1.5 crop is 28.26 mm. the 1D has a 34.25 mm normal.Originally posted by: GTaudiophile
First and foremost I would say that 28mm is not wide enough on a 1.6 crop/APS-C camera body. The 35mm equivalent is 44.8 - 480mm.
Secondly, I would say that "jack of all trade" lenses like one from 28 to 300 is maybe okay or good at most things but never excellent at anything.

I just bought a 35 F1.4L and sent it back to B&H. I thought I wanted one after having rented one but the new copy I received wasn't as sharp at F1.4 as I wanted for $1120. Besides, my EFS 17-55 @ 35mm / F2.8 is pretty much as sharp as the 35L @ F2.8.Originally posted by: ElFenix
