hi,
does anyone have any experience/info for this HSF:

Speeze FalconRock Copper Based Soc.A 5F271B1M3 Fan

it is supposedly good upto 2800+xp and the fan spcs are:
2700 RPM, 37.87 CFM at 2700 RPM, 26.5 dBA

i want to replace the stock hsf for my 2100+xp which is both noisy and running rather warm...which is holding me back from any serious attempt at overclocking [pottering along quite merrily at 12x166 at the moment]
in the long term i supposed i will have to get some expensive copper with a pabst or panaflo fan but in the meantime.....

is it as quiet as it claims and does it provide decent cooling?

thanks

i wouldn't recommend Speeze coolers for overclocking. I recommend Thermalright SLK-800 and 900U or the Swiftech MCX462. With those, you can even add your own fan.

Look at the customer reviews under the Speeze 5F263B1M3G on Newegg for $12. shipped! Use that with AS3 and a Thermaltake or SVC copper shim mounted with normal HS grease.
Very few people need more - the copper is likely to give you only 1 or 2 deg C better. Mine is great. Keeps my Duron at 20 deg C or less!
..bh.
Hoping for :sun:!

I'd use a thermalright sk7+. just about as good as the slk 800 but costs less.

ALMOST as good as slk800

Very Very close..

yes it is, the only reason i got a slk800 is cuz excaliber had a combo special where if you buy with a CPU, you get 5 off, so it was only $29. if i went to SVC, it would come out almost the same with shipping and what not
