Doesn't look to me like he's clutching in for that, so no it wouldn't hurt it. Impressive bike control though!
 
I believe those bikes are specially set up to do that kind of contest (special gearing and so forth), so I doubt it.

There's also a vid of a guy doing that course on a zx-14, which is nuts.
