is this healthy?

Due to being busy lately and wanting a small budget, I want to eat the HealthyChoice frozen dinner things for lunch and dinner. A coworker is doing this and has lost over 20lbs. I would eat some kind of high fiber cereal in the morning and the frozen dinners for my other two meals, along with fruit/veggies for snacks.

I checked the back and each meal has about 25% Daily Allowance for Sodium. I know the sodium is usually the bad thing about these meals but that didn't seem bad, at least to me.

So would this be a healthy solution to do for, say, 2 months?

Thanks!

yeah, that sounds fine. most of those type of prepared foods have 30-50% RDA sodium, so 25% isn't too bad

if you can throw in some exercise, you'll be doing better than 90% of us

If you are going to do boxed dinners, I suggest the South Beach ones. Better taste, veggies are more "fresh", and they are much higher in fiber and protien than the Healthy Choice ones. Downside is that they are a bit more expensive and lack the variety.

The Smart Ones from Weight Watchers aren't bad either.

They are a good way to control portion sizes and provide a decent amount of variety along with convenience. I've ate microwave meals(South beach and smart ones) for lunch for the last year+ and have dropped over 25 pounds.

Just be sure to toss in some fruit (banana, fresh pineapple, grapes, orange, ect) into your breakfast and a mid day snack each day.

Sodium is only bad if you have a predisposition for high blood pressure or edema. If you do not suffer from either, you do not need to focus on low sodium in your diet.
