Is this HDR in HL2

I was browsing through some of my old HL2 videos and noticed a file named "source_hdr02.exe" from Sept. 2003. I watched it again and to my surprise it's a HL2 HDR demo (I forgot about it). I'm not sure if anyone has posted it before, but here is a link to where you can dl the video:

If they had a working demo in 2003, I wonder why it's taking them so long to implement it into the game.

well... it was ok.. The only diffrence I could see is that some things (The roof paneling) looked shiny and stuff..

Also, I dunno if it was something with my Computer, but it seems like they have horrible framerate in that demo

If you watch it more carefully, you can see the glare when looking from the inside of the building out and the streams of light. It's the same effect that occurs when you're inside a dark room then look outside into the sun.

they do have a horrible framerate; at the time i think they only had a 9800xt to play it on.
i think the HDR looks fairly realistic; we will have to see how they implemented it into other levels before we can make a decision. in that video it makes it look it just rained; pretty cool IMO
