Is this hard drive useless?

Ordered a hard drive from a website. Got it and put it in. Formatted, lots of issues, lots of crap. Upgraded BIOS -- now have a testing option. Ran hard drive test: get message "#02- 05 FAIL."

So is this hard drive totally dead? Or is there something I can do to salvage this?

Thanks

"testing option"?
Where are you getting the error? If it's SMART, then the drive is toasted.

When I start it up, the computer says something about SMART indicating possible imminent failure -- use F2 startup test. So I restart, go into BIOS, then tests, then hard drive test. That's where I find it.

So I guess I am calling the seller tomorrow.
Thanks!

Awwww thats the end of that :( When you get the SMART warning, your HD will die...could be a day, a week, a month, 3 months, a year? You don't know, when I first got my warning my HD died 2 months after, I know some ppl theirs died after 6 months. Try to RMA or return it if possible.
