is this hard drive unuseable

I got hard drive from a freind and when I went to format it there were errors in the event veiwer saying that it has a bad block, is this fixable, do I have any optoins or is it junk?

I think it'll be junk. Hard drives are cheap these days, save your data and a headache by buying a new one. If you need to recover data off the hdd, try "Get Data Back". Should work.

it'll work. you just need to run drive scan or whatever it's called so that bad sectors are blocked out and rendered unusable, although it tends to be that drives that alread have bad sectors tend to create more over time.
