I am getting an Iwill kk266/athlon upgrade, and i am interested in good quality PC133 SDRAM that will let me overclock. I checked pricewatch.com and BZBOYZ.com and another vendor has this Micron memory listed for 16$.
Here is what it says in the description on pricewatch:

PRICE FOR ONLINE
ORDERS ONLY -
128MB PC 133
SDRAM 7.5Ns C Gold
Leads 16X64 True
PC133 CAS3 Dimm
====================================
168PIN Micron SOJ 3.3v -
w/EEPROM - with Lifetime
Warr, 6 Layer Unbuffered
MT 48LC8M8A2 TG-75
(Limit Qty 5)

Should i get a couple sticks of this? My main concern is if it will overclock to about 150Mhz bus speed.

Cas3 Ram doesn't overclock well, not to mention the fact that it is a generic. Buying generic parts can be ok sometimes, but not with ram. Crucial is a little more expensive than that, but their cas2 pc133 will do what you want it to.

Thanks for the reply. I thought Micron was a good brand? You say this is generic memory? Please explain.

i believe crucial uses micron memory chips along with their high quality pcb. a lot of "generic" brands use micron chips (probably the lower yield chips and often cas3) along with "generic" pcb, which is often like 4 layers instead of 6...and there are probably other quality differences. there is definately decent generic ram out there, but it is usually almost as much money as name brand like crucial at that point. when it comes to a sensitive peice of hardware, it's the little things that count.

If you dont want to OC that will be fine.

Yes, crucial does use micron chips because crucial == micron. (okay manufacturing division to be technical)

i might just be an exception here but i have owned generic ram with micron chips that was rated at pc133 cas3. it ran 100% perfectly at its rated specs but would not run stable at 134mhz cas3. i'm talking zero overclockability. that's just my experience...
