The results waiting is over 800 now and he is out of WUs. That's going to be alot of traffic when Berkeley gets back up. Crash again?

Actually, I don't think that Berkeley is totally down..as my Queue is very slowly uploading the completed WU's...but I do mean slow...about 6 in the last 40 minutes....

I would imagine that OK is also uploading...but probably getting more then sending! :Q

/me slaps Berkeley for being so bad.

I realise that they cant be blamed for not investing thousands + in their servers, but if they want to host a DC project, then they need to sort themselves out. :)

Bottom line: if they want more WUs processed they need to get those servers up :) (nothing like a good incentive :D)

I haven't had any WUs that are stuck in OK's proxy go through yet and I have 30 left to fill on my computer here. It doesn't look like their is much movement over there at all. Maybe I am wrong though.

I was just able to download a WU teriba. Its very hit and miss though.

Since I was downloading from OrangeKid, I must have downloaded something that he himself had just recieved from Berkeley, as how it looks like he has run out :(

I'm able to very slowly grab WU's from Berkeley (at least here at home - I can't see my SetiQueue away from work, but I'll be willing to bet there's probably 100-150 waiting to go back).

OK is not out of WUs. Each person has their own queue. Mine has 82 WUs in it. So, if you can't get any more then it is because your queue is empty. OK can move WUs between queues if needed. Send him an email and ask. He can take them from me if need be as I've got about 6 days worth locally.

Good luck!

I'm not in too bad of a situation. I just bumped my cache up to 50 because I have never experienced an outage like this before and it kind of scares me:Q I bet a lot of people have done this as well. With 50 I will have about a week's worth of WUs for this machine. I have 19 WUs here which will last me 3 days so I'm good for a bit. When will OK's queue put more in my queue (kind of weird wording)?

I don't believe this current problem has anything to do with the servers, it is a problem with a bandwidth bottleneck imposed by the University where the servers happen to be located. From what I have heard anyway.

JWMiddleton: Thanks for the info and offer, but theres no problem here. Like teriba, I increased my queue due to the shortage and must have depleted my 'pool'. :)

Teriba: Yup, thats what I did ;)

Wiz: Oh, I see. My bad

Please explain to me how OK's proxy works. I have 5 machines that are just about out of WU's and I don't want to have any lapse in production. What do I do with my completed WU's? If I set up the OK proxy in Seti Driver, will OK's proxy hold them until bandwidth to Berkeley opens?

As far as I know, OK's proxy will try to send them and will do so as soon as possible.

Yeah, it sort of acts as a buffer for Berkeley. When Berkeley goes down OK will have WUs for you for a little bit of time. It will also store your results and then send them to Berkeley when it's back up. It's sort of a secondary cache.

But...if OK's can't get WU's for you NEW Queue (just created when you log on to OK's with the CLI), he'll have to manually move WU's to that Queue for you to download.....It appears (thanks Futureman at DSLR...as I didn't know this until today) that WU's are stored in YOUR individual Queue on the SETIQueue...and if OK can't get some for you from Berkeley, then he'll have to manually move them for you...

FYI! :)

I would suggest that people with other Q's that connect to mine hold off on connecting for a while if the can :)

They are going but very slowly :(

Hey, I'm installing on another computer tonight (500MHz, 24/7). Will I need more WU's in my queue for that, or should I go through Berkeley to grab some? How's Berkeley doing right now?
