They don't. I'm not sure what kind of crack Yahoo is smoking, but they are nowhere near that large.

Yahoo must have something messed up. MarketCap is Shares Outstanding x Share Price. To get a trillion+ market cap, BP would need to have some 21B shares outstanding at current share price. Marketwatch shows that they only have 3.46B outstanding, which is in line with their reported MarketCap.
