All we need is for these to be embedded in our brains. With bluetooth embedded into these chips they should be able to tract anyone wireless. Isnt technology cool!

This country seems to be going down the sh!tter and no one seems to notice or care. It sucks, but it's true.

These ID cards would not be in effect until 3 years after the law was put into effect..

It has the same information as a driver's license, as far as I can tell. Of course, that's just an "artist's" rendering.

It's not about how long they will be in effect, it's the principle, it's the fact that it isn't necessary, but is yet another way to put a number on each person in this country. The state system as it is right now works well. Perhaps a national set of standards for an ID card should be implemented, but not a nationally regulated one.

Interestingly enough, the All-Seeing Eye is on that picture. All-Seeing Eye was associated with the Morning Star for thousands of years. Anyone wanna guess which Angel was known as the Morning Star in the Bible?

The card doesn't bother me. In fact, I think it could be useful in many ways. We've been identified by our SSN for generations already. Now, start suggesting required ID implants and I'll be moving.

Eventually, it's likely that not having one would be like not having a social security number (which, by the way, you're not technically required to have). It would make it nearly impossible to have a bank account, or a job, or a driver's license.

you wont be able to buy sell or trade...or something like that/:evil:

Watch out for the mark of the beast. It would b real creepy if there was a number on the card somewhere that said 666.

So impossible to buy and trade.

Here's a news article on it.

House Republicans attached the bill to a must-pass supplemental spending package for troops in Iraq without first putting it through the usual legislative scrutiny of hearings and debate. Should it emerge intact from House-Senate negotiations over the spending package, it could be law next month.

Yup, Republicans ARE nazis ;)

So then everything's ok.

I was not implying just because they could be around in 3 years that everything is okay..

I have several problems with them just from 5-10 min of reading.

1. It will require the same technology across the country for accessing someones personal information. I feel ID theft would be easier and occur much more often.

2. If businesses have you swipe these to verify things such as writing a check or purchasing alcohol etc. Is the information stored on a local machine or corporate server and can they sell it to other companies.

This is just a few quick things that came to mind.

meh. I already have a drivers license and a SSC. What's one more piece of ID?

do you have any idea what you just said?

anyway, because drivers licenses could qualify as long as they're within the standard it wouldn't necessarily be another ID

they are banking on this mentality in the future.

"I am already on camera everywhere in public, whats the big deal with having the federally mandated video cameras installed in my home"
