Is this feasible for Airplane Security?

A bunch of us were talking at work about Airplane Security and the hi-jackings of 9-11, and what could be done to prevent this from happening in the future and I came up with the idea of Security Cameras in the cockpit that allows the pilot/co-pilot, or a appointed Security Officer to keep watch on the entire plane.

If a hi-jack attempt were to occur, the pilots and the Security Officer would be able to see what was taking place and would have some sort of device that would allow them to inject (slowly) sleeping gas or some type of agent into the rest of the plane, that would knock everyone out inside the plane, save for the cockpit - and would allow the crew to make an emergency landing at the nearest airfield to allow the capture of any would-be terrorist...

The only problems I can think of is the chance of somehow the tanks are ignited and explode, or the accident injection of knockout gas into the cabin... Or am I just missing the bigger picture on this?

I think the ACLU or someone would go crazy just knowing things like that are available to pilots.

Or the machine gets the mix wrong & everyone dies, or some old lady doesn't wake up, or some pregnant woman goes into a coma & her baby dies & she's left with brain damage...

LOL probably not. Why do something so complicated when you can just depressurize the plane and knock everybody out?

Although the security camera is a good idea.

what about people allergic to it? the biggest problem. the best solution is just to not have pilots at all. ive told this story many a times, but ill do it again anyway. was at a tech conference with this speaker from nasa, was talking about some stuff they develop, one was what is now know as the predator drones. basically all planes can be equiped with ILS (instrument landing systems) and flown without any need for a pilot, co-pilot, or navigator. just completely automate the process.

of course the biggest problem is that people would never go for that, they want someone flying the plane. pisser :(

Would you rather have a few people have reactions? Or would you want them all to die anyways?
