A bunch of us were talking at work about Airplane Security and the hi-jackings of 9-11, and what could be done to prevent this from happening in the future and I came up with the idea of Security Cameras in the cockpit that allows the pilot/co-pilot, or a appointed Security Officer to keep watch on the entire plane.
If a hi-jack attempt were to occur, the pilots and the Security Officer would be able to see what was taking place and would have some sort of device that would allow them to inject (slowly) sleeping gas or some type of agent into the rest of the plane, that would knock everyone out inside the plane, save for the cockpit - and would allow the crew to make an emergency landing at the nearest airfield to allow the capture of any would-be terrorist...
The only problems I can think of is the chance of somehow the tanks are ignited and explode, or the accident injection of knockout gas into the cabin... Or am I just missing the bigger picture on this?
