Is this fast for a scanner?

It's going for $50 refurb at Fry's.

Nice fast Scanner for that price...scared of refurbs myself and that particular model doesn't have an on/off swirch so the lamp stays on.

Actually a lot of Scanners automatically turn on the lamp when the scanner is in use, and turn it off after a certain amount of time idle.

 

[Doh!]

The scanning lamp (not the power light) turns off when not in use for Epson 1650. The power light is always on though. It is a very nice scanner for $50.

Good to know Doh! cause my older 1240U's lamp stayed on all the time...
