Is this expected 3dmark06 score?

in 3dmark06 I get aprox 5600. is this what I should be getting?
 
i got ~6100 i think it was
4400+
4x512
8800GTS

or was that on '05...

i dno.. mine seemed REALLY low when i did a custom run on '06... it was about 3400
 
That looks good - you can compare it on the website.

Also, your power supply is about to explode, I can smell it from here.

CPU Core= 1.42 V
+3.3 V = 3.31 V
+5 V = 5.05 V
+12 V = 12.10 V
+5 V Standby= 5.12 V

Those voltages actually look OK, but that means very little.

I said what I said because your PSU, while probably just powerful enough to run the system, is likely right on the edge - and they have a reputation for exploding when on the edge. My Truepower 430 exploded with only an overclocked AXP and 9800 pro.

But remember that buying a 450W unit for a system that requires exactly 450W of power is probably a bad idea. Your car engine might be capable of 7000 RPM, but how long do you think it would last if kept at 7000 RPM constantly?

The voltages on the left (only the +3.3, +5 and +12 are of interest) are the 'nominal' voltages; the readings on the right are what Everest is reading. As long as the reading voltages are within +-5% of the nominal, you are good.

What may or may not be an issue is the amps your PSU can supply, not the voltages.

depending on how many hard drives, cd/dvd roms, etc he has, that PSU should be enough for an 8800gts, but i agree it's pushing it. the important thing here is the +12V rail and how many amps it can provide, as that is what the most power hungry components (CPU, video card) are using. running any PSU, w/ the possible exception of the top of the line (like PC Power & Cooling, Seasonic, etc) at close to it's max for extended periods of time is never a good idea.

also, list each of your scores - SM2.0, HDR/SM3.0, CPU - as that may be more telling. your score seems a bit lower than it should be (see the link i posted above) but it's important to know which component(s) are lagging behind.
 
Well They recommend 400W with 26a on +12v. So I just meet the system requirements and I figure they are probably just being on the safe side.

I ran 3dmark 06 twice no problems perfectly stable.

I have not gamed very much so no way to gauge stability yet, once I get Oblivion installed I will see if it gives me any trouble, but if it's stable I see no reason to upgrade.

The link you provided shows they hit 8000, but they are using a very high end processor, I don't think I cant hit those marks with my 3500+, according to that article 06 seems to be somewhat more CPU intensive? I remember on the CPU test i was literally getting 0 FPS lol 😛

Yeah, I got a PSU rated at 550W, which is an OK buffer, but I really wasn't expecting to get anything that would even come close to making my system demand those W's.

Such are the demands of free hardware... it must be used!!

I ran around 3-4 on the CPU test... so I guess thats where my extra 500pts comes from!
