Man, my apt's AC is so inefficient; It runs 24/7 and it still becomes 83° inside the apt everyday. At midnight it is still 79°. Is it normal for apartment air conditioning to suck, and does this bill look normal?

Something sounds like it's wrong. Can you contact your landlord to have it checked out?

No, my 700 sq foot apartment costs me $90 at most with 2 Q6600's running 24/7.

Is the landlord obligated to rectify this problem? What rights do I have as a tenant? I don't think they will care.

Soundls like your unit needs a tuneup. The evaporator coil should be cleaned if it has not been done in the last couple of years especially is you or the previous owner was not judicious about changing the filters regularly. Then the outside unit should be cleaned and checked to make sure it has the proper freon charge. It is amazing how many units loose a little bit of freon over time. You need to contact your property manager and see what the options are to solve this issue. You may have to do it on your own but the ~$200 you would spend having it all done could lower your bill significantly.

OK, thanks. I'm done whining for now. I'll speak with the landlord tomorrow.

Depends on your state law, and if an AC guy says that there is definitely a problem.
