Okay so some issues might cause me to get 2 320gb barracuda's and a 160gb raptor rather than just 2 400gb barracuda's yadda yadda its not important

my case only has rack room for 2 HDD's

i was going to remove and cover up the floppy drive slot anyway. thats 3.5"....can I mount the 3rd HDD in there?

stupid n00b question probably but i dont know the answer

Those spots are made to accept any 3.5" drive. That includes hard drives, floppy drives, card readers, etc. etc.
 
Form factor is no problem - a couple of side screws will do. But, what controller will you connect it to? PATA, SATA? PCI?
