Is this Dell worth fixing?

I found a nice Dell inspiron 1501 in the garbage (It was in a nice case with all of the documents and CDS😱)
The battery was charged and the computer has a cracked LCD. The HDD is still good and I don't know how the screen was cracked or if it was on when that happened

The Specs are
AMD TK-55 (Athlon 64 x2)
512MB DDR2
60GB SATA HDD
DVD/CDRW (CD Burner only)
ATI integrated Graphics
WLAN Card
10/100 NIC

I was just thinking about buying a power adapter and using it as a spare computer (Attached to a external monitor)
I was just wondering is about $100 for a new screen worth it for an older computer or should just get the adapter as I plan to do?

Any idea of what I should do with it?

Thanks

if you can get a used screen for it, i would say its worth it. I have gotten used screens for as little as $30 before. cheap to get a second 512mb of ram too.

Try Ebay. Lots of people part out their laptops after they take a crap. Another place to try would be Craigslist. Lots of people post up their partially working laptops for parts which might help when swapping parts around.

sent you a PM, i have a 15.4 screen you can have for shipping costs, it was working when it was pulled.
