I have a 741GX-M mobo with a Sempron 2200+ with stock HSF with 1GB of 512MB PC2700 Corsair XMS.

I'm running it at 225 MHz with 153? MHz DRAM at where it's a 3:2 ratio. The computer is around 43C idle and 48C on load.

Will these settings damage my memory or CPU? How high can I go with this setup assuming I plan to upgrade my HSF.

THX!!!

Wow your CPU runs at 43C when idle and 8C when loaded? :)

Anyway, you won't damage your CPU and memory provided you keep them at stock voltage.

I noticed the same thing with my sempron 2400+ I had briefly....The retalil cooler is more then effective for this chip....I was 44c idle and 50c load after 6 hours of prime95 and 52c after 3 more hours of prime with 3dmark2k1SE looping in.....

The real big heat jump will occur more once you start having to bump the vcore..otherwise temp increases are usully minor up until the point...I wouldn't worry about heat until you are nearing 60c load...These chips can run that hot...

Thx for the help. I'm just really worried I will mess up my memory or I O/Ced it too much. I was thinking about getting a SilentBoost and then upping it to maybe 240 MHz and 166?MHz DRAM. It would be my nice lil sleeper.

Try an slk900 or slk 947, they are much better then a silent boost. Also, remember, coolers that try to be silent will sometimes sacrifice cooling performance to achieve that silence.

Those tbreds can handle anything.. I won't say how high but you have nothing to worry about.

I believe right now, I'm running at 225 MHz with DRAM settings at 188 MHz. It seems ok but as I'm running Prime95 right now, it's hitting as high as 52 C. :(
