Also Good Friday and Easter, whenever the heck it is.

I will. Im gonna label Easter as "JESUS BIRTHDAY" and label Christmas with "DEATH OF JESUS" and I gonna put big crosses on both dates.

Maybe I'll get a christmas tree and put it in the office as well.

Fridays for business casual, I'll wear a shirt that says "Jesus Rocks."

Gee it's a big wonder you work in a cubicle...

What do you mean by that? 😕

You emphasized on hallowe'en, and he did the same for his holidays. What's the problem? 😕

Halloween is not a religous holiday.

That's not entirely true.

Yea, if you're a witch. Which our company probably woulnd't hire.

Well, you'd think they wouldn't hire an overly sensitive idiot, either. But here we are.

What makes you think that your company wouldn't hire a 'witch' ? How would you or anyone else know who the 'witch' was unless he or she told you ?

We'd recognize someone as being a witch by the broom and large pointy black hat they came to the interview with.

You've yet to provide a valid reason for this thread. Some guy scribbled a couple of his holidays on a calendar, and your mature response is to agree with the likely 8 year olds that say you should mark Christmas as "the day the Jews killed Jesus" (laugh). This page will reach 10 pages long before you ever think about answering the question "what's the big deal?"

When you come up with an answer to that, please let us all know.

Errrr... might want to switch those two.

Anyway, I think it just annoys you because the guy annoys you in general.

Even that wouldn't be right... Easter is supposed to be the day he was resurrected.

I know you're new, but "whats the big deal" can be said about almost every other thread here in ATOT.

I'll give you another week for you to realize this, you can apologize to me later.

It's called Anti-Semitism. You put up an image for a Pagen holiday, that''s Ok with you. He put something up about Jewish holiday's, that's not ok with you. Add Anti-Semite to your sig.

Halloween is not a religous holiday.

That's not entirely true.

To the vast majority of the US population, it is not.

To the vast majority, Easter isn't either, but it too is still a religious holiday, a pagen one, unbeknownest to many that do observe it.

I wouldn't make an issue of it. Over here, we are supposed to have no religous or political stuff up for display. So someone was printing out a buttload of Jewish holiday stuff and Isreali minded current event articles. Another person got pissy about it and told him to stop printing out all the 'Jewish stuff'.
If both took it to HR, the guy that pointed out the other person as a Jew would look dumb. He should just said 'religous stuff'.

I agree. Religion should not be brought into the work environment unless it is confirmed that everyone is comfortable with it. I marked Halloween on the calender because to me, it's just a fun holiday, and I attach no religion to it.

FYI

Holloween name means

All Saints Eve.

That is what it literally means. It marks the eve of All Saints Day, a Catholic Holiday.

The Catholic put up a holiday on the same day as a pegan one to convert people. Same thing with easter and xmas.

My sentiments exactly, but I understand your frustration. Frankly I'd prefer all religion to be kept out of the workplace, unless you work for a religious organization of course. But making any type of deal out of this will be more hassle than it is worth, so just move on man.
