I reply back, saying its in gret condition, etc.

his reply:
"I appreciate your quick response towards my request.I have a reasonable offer for these item and my offer is $1,100 Hope it is acceptable.
Payment will be arranged by the check Payments.
Your Full name and address will be needed, Once the check as been claer in your account Shipping is going to be arranged with my personal Fedex account.
Waiting to hear from you as soon as possible so payment can be ordered and we can have a fast transaction between ourselves.
Thanks.. you can also call me on 702-(edited)

thanks (edited)"

That area code traces to las vegas. Whats wierd about it is how he types like a non-American and his email account is yahoo.co.uk. Btw the item is a ps3 with a game. Anyways, Im wondering if you guys think this is safe or not?

I am certain it's safe

for him to get away with your ps3 if you actually send him the ps3.

1st clue

"hello seller i will like to inform you my intrest in your item posted on craigslist and i will also like to know if the item is still in good conditions mail me asap if the item is still available."

clue 2,3, and 4

"I appreciate your quick response towards my request.I have a reasonable offer for these item and my offer is $1,100 Hope it is acceptable.

clue 5,6

Payment will be arranged by the check Payments.

HUGE clue #7

Your Full name and address will be needed,

HUGE clue #8

Once the check as been claer in your account Shipping is going to be arranged with my personal Fedex account.

Insanely HUGE clue #9, so huge we will throw a few extra clue #s at it.

Waiting to hear from you as soon as possible so payment can be ordered and we can have a fast transaction between ourselves.

clue #12

All these clues along with the fact that I have seen this same email 3-5 dozen times makes me 100% certain it is a scam attempt.

I listed an auto on craigslist (1997 for $1500) and right away received an email written in scamglish. It was clearly auto-generated as it asked questions that were in the first few lines of the posting as well as my price. I'm aware some folks don't read the posts but all the 'clues' were there. Confirming that, the same type of email was received numerous other times when I re-posted.

Not that it applies here, but, I ended up selling the car on autotrader, and got what I wanted for it + the cost of advertising. I got a few 'real' calls from craigslist but nobody was seriously interested.

If anyone says "item" in their email to you, it's a scam -- 100% of the time. It's quite easy to filter out the crap if you only look for that one word.

I didnt even need to read the contents of your post. The title was enough to warrant the answer of "no"
