Intel Celeron-D 2.53Ghz LGA775 Socket - 533Mhz SL7TL MALAY Q444A385
I can get this for around $30 shipped or so.

Will it be better than this Pentium 4 3.4ghz with HT Technology!?!?

Thanks guys.

BTW, my board can only support P4s and Celeron Ds.

NO NOT EVEN CLOSE.....Has less cache 256 vs 512 at least...though I believe some of the prescott models at 1mb of L2...I am sure the L1 cache may be less as well...

Does it need to fit on your current board? 478 pin?

the only thing that would be faster is a 3.6 or 3.8ghz prescott, and that would be hardly noticeable....

or a Pentium-D dual core....it will be a heater and a power hog though...be a step up from the HT technology, especially since many more apps take advantage of dual core now then did back in the 2003-2004 timeframe...

cedar mill chips at speeds up to 3.33ghz can be had for 20 more bucks, but I still think a 3.4ghz P4 with HT will beat it...

check this one out....

I bought one for a friend and placed it on a sweet liitle gigabyte board...damn thing would even oC up to 3ghz....

I will recommend this as well. Pick up the IP35-E motherboard and the E2160, and you'll be all set.

Oh....don't forget a HSF either. Get a Freezer 7 Pro or one similar to it. I heard something about the Freezer 7 Pro not fitting on the IP35-E, but you'll have to look into that.
