I have a DVD drive, and CD writer, and an internal zip drive.

The hard drive is on the primary IDE channel and the Zip drive is slaved to it.

The DVD and CD writer are on the secondary IDE channel. The DVD is slaved to the writer.

Is this the best configuration?
 
As was discussed in this thread, it would probably be best to have the DVD drive as master on the Secondary IDE channel.......
 
i would get a add in promise card and get rid of the zip, they're worthless really.

then run the cdrw and dvd from the motherboard on there own channels and the hard drive on its own.

but if you plan on using the zip id hook it up to the cdrw channel
