I'm running an older Dell laptop (GM965 chipset) under full CPU load.
HWMonitor gives me the following temps:
Mainboard (THM_)
76 °C (average)
78 °C (maximum)
CPU
~70 °C (average) (core 1 & core 2)
71 °C (maximum) (core 1 & core 2)
Note: CPU is a T9500
I'm assuming "THM_" is the chipset (Northbridge). If so, is this too high? Note that the temps for this sensor are always a few degrees higher than the CPU temps, even with normal system use (by around 6-7 °C as well).
EDIT: If the Tcase of the chipset is higher than my current temp values, then I can assume that my chipset is fine, correct? Also, Tjmax (which is more reflective of the chip's actual thermal max) is always higher than Tcase, correct?
