Is this case worth $120 (hook a brother up)

The Lian-Li PC65 aluminum case. Here's a link if you haven't seen it before:
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...g=7&manufactory=1375&DEPA=1&sortby=14&order=1

it's about halfway down the page. I can get one from a friend for $120. Is that a good deal or do you have any other suggestions. I figure that two front fans and a top fan would be benificial for cooling (especially because I don't plan watercooling) so I probably will go with this unless you guys can tell me of a site that has decent cases for cheaper. (note: all my friends have the Raid-X case from colorcases.com or look-a-likes of it and I would prefer to stay away from that style). Thanks.

it is a great case, but very steep since theres no psu. and if ur looking for quiet i wouldnt suggest it since to change fan speed u gotta remove the front panel. and the stock fans arent too quiet

yeah it is actually. GS is alright but I kinda like the expertise of these forumites a little more (with the exception of a few GS members... you know who you are). Also, although I am comfortable with GS's forums and layout, I kinda like this forum because there aren't huge annoying sigs or anything like that (and less spammers). Not that GS isn't good because there are plenty of helpful forumites like yourself, DarkJedi, and others. Oh well, I'm on a rant here so I better stop.

You can't go wrong with a Lian-Li case. They are worth every penny.
Never heard of anyone complain about fan noise.
You will have more of an issue with fan noise from your PSU and HSF.
The Lian-Lis are a dream to work on, everything is very accessible.
Front fan speeds are controlled by a 3 position switch with a simple snap-off of the front bezel.

Here's mine.

Wow, that's exactly what I planned to do with my case (paint the drives matching silver). Just out of curiosity, what kind of paint did you use, how did you apply it, and do you have any suggestions for painting the drives? Also, I thought about putting really bright glowing fans behind the front fan opening. Do you think that the light will shine through? Thanks.

Oh yeah, sweet case man!

There is a factory supplied filter in front of the front intake fans, but LED's show through it pretty well.

I'd suggest using silver vinyl dye rather than paint for your drives. You can get it at large auto parts stores or places like Wal-Mart (auto section). It dries in minutes, doesn't "wear off" like paint, and actually soaks into the plastic, so scratches aren't a problem.

I've had a PC-65 for about 6 months, and it's a great case! Nothing but good.....

silver vinyl dye huh? Is that same as touch up paint? Is it expensive?

It's actually for touching up vinyl upholstery. Works pretty good and is about the same price as a good brand of spray paint.

Agreed, thats why I'm here as well. 😀

Thanks for the compliment.
I just used generic aluminum colored spray paint from K Mart.
I took the front bezels off the drives to paint them.
I've heard about the vinyl dye, never used it. I was concerned about my paint scratching off, but that has not been an issue.
I'm surprised to hear that the LED fans will shine thru the filter, I would have thought not.

in a review i was reading it looked like the current Lian-Li cases have the fan speed accessable w/o removing the front bezel.

Lian Li cases are great. I have the pc6002 and love it. only problem i had was with the filter on front. It didn't filter out dust too well but that was easily fixed by using a regular ac filter cut out to size and placed in front of the original filter held in place by the front bezel. It looks a lot better due to the blue color.
