Is this car dealer trying to scam me?

I bought a used car on Saturday. Checked it out first and everything seems ok with the exception of the warranty. He said that I was getting a one year warrenty but used a marker or highlighter to mark the one year check box, so it didn't go through to the customer copy. I just now noticed this when checking and I am concerned because if the warrenty company doesn't get the original copy they will not have the supposed length of the warrenty. My check is post dated so I need to know if this is a typical scaming technique?

Yes, that's the only thing he used a red highligher or marker on, but at first I was thinking it was to show me that I was getting the one year warranty. If the warrenty company is getting that copy then it won't be a problem, but if they don't get that first copy they will want to know what's up.
