It would be really ironic if someone is mass producing this style of cap for only $1.00 in China or developing countries that is sold at retail for ~$100 to ~$200+.
I would be really pissed off if I paid good money for one and this turns out to the case.. Wouldn't you?
Depends -- You are actually paying for the fact that it is made in Italy as opposed to made Walmart or Target! Some thing come with a hefty price based on its origin and craftsmanship!!It would be really ironic if someone is mass producing this style of cap for only $1.00 in China or developing countries that is sold at retail for ~$100 to ~$200+.

FTFY....at 18, they might have 6 years of growth. If you really want a good woven hat, you should go with someone who's been growing that mane down there for decades! That just turned 81.![]()
I've got a wool Stacy Adams had I got for under $30 5 years ago that does great at keeping my head warm and dry, but it looks like lately it costs $60.I have a couple German-made wool/Gore-Tex caps from a company called Gottman, the oldest of which I've had for nearly 30 years and its still completely weather-resistant with not a thread out of place only a few scuffs.
Both of them together cost a little less then $100 and to me at least they represent some of the best money I've ever spent on clothing.
Thing is though, MOST of "value" in something like a clothing purchase is completely subjective. I tend to value function over form ... in other words I care a lot more about keeping my head warm/dry (and having a wide brim to keep precip off glasses) when it comes to hats for daily use then I do what they look like.

Wonder how much a shirt pin given out during Reagan's "Make America Great" presidential campaign costs right now.
And how much would that 2121 $100 translate to in 2021 dollars?100 years from now, I can assure you a MAGA hat would be worth $100. Wonder how much a shirt pin given out during Reagan's "Make America Great" presidential campaign costs right now.
