Is this being too sensitive to music?

I'm listening to some radio right now and Cake came up. Every time I hear that voice it reminds me of a girl who really liked the band. I can't help but take a sigh as I remember that it did not work out well... Anyone else have music or even a whole band ruined for them in such a way?

OK seriously, are you some super emo love-sick person? Nearly every thread you create has something to do about relationships.

My wife was like that- every damn favorite song I had gave her bad memories and she couldn't listen to them. After we determined her entire childhood sucked in general, she learned it wasn't the music's fault and I can listen to the radio again :)

"Hey, Soul Sister" is a pretty terrible song.

but sometime last summer, I was at a party and heard an ex singing the song. now he and that song are inexorably linked in my mind, and every time I hear the song as I'm flipping through radio stations or walking around the grocery store, it makes me super angry at just how mother fucking terrible it is.

I think it sets a world record for the whitest song with the word soul in the title

Having an emotional response after hearing music? You monster!

Has it always been you who has been sarcastically suggesting normality in all my threads? Not saying it's not normal I guess but most people I know listen to music in the BG nowadays and don't process it at all.

The sheer number of people who do not know the lyrics to Creep or have never heard of Karma Police sickens me.

why?

they're a retardedly pretentious band with retardedly pretentious fans, and as good of an album as OK Computer was, I'm pretty OK with limiting their exposure to the world.

Who cares about perceived attitudes? It's about the music.

I listened to Radiohead's OK Computer a few times. It was awful. Radiohead is just bad in general.

I listened to Creep and remember how Radiohead can't sing for their lives. I also can not relate a song about being a creep.

I listened to Karma Police and the musicality is horrendous. Boring rhythm, horrible pitch, nothing really interesting going on.

I try not to compare a lot of popular music to the most gifted composers (I am a classical singer, my music Library is primarily classical/operatic), but if it's bad, it's just bad. I'd rather listen to a Tiesto, Nickelback, Usher, Kanye West or any other generic popular music than Radiohead.

The English/Brits/Scottish (whatever, I can't tell) have some great bands out there (Coldplay, Snow Patrol) but Radiohead isn't one of them.

I know the part where he says "I'm a creep.... I'm a looooooser" and that's all I know. It's also the only part where I know the melody.

Never heard of Karma Police. Is it an album?

i don't understand that crap. i have a friend who is like that, he can be perfectly fine and happy one minute, then a song he "doesn't like" comes on, even if he's never heard it, and he will flip out and totally change his mood. Basically you're just an emotional bitch and you need to put your big boy pants on and be a man.

Yeah I thought he might have had a valid opinion comparing to classical music and all... not that I agree but at least it was respectable... then came that list... Now I think this one might just be braindead.

The fact that list is better than Radiohead is simply a testament of how bad Radiohead is.

If I mentioned Berlioz, Puccini, Handel etc to you or the rest of the board, I would just get a blank.
