Is this bad?

It's been running for over an hour now, and my cpu is around 99% usage, lagging my entire system.

yes it's bad... and you're not supposed to run other applications while running adware..

Ad Aware should only run for a few minutes. If you disable any startup items and reboot, then run the program, does the same thing happen?

no it generally doesnt...... unless yuou have a super fast computer or you just don't have that many files.

i'm running it on my primary boot drive. It's a maxtor 5400 rpm 80 gig drive with about 1.5 gb free

I know that. I was wondering if the same thing happened on his system, to see if it was just hanging due to some random Windows thing, or if the program was choking on some new installed spyware.. But it's a moot point since he just wants to let it run.

that explains it...a slow drive with about 75 gigs of data/pr0n =).
