Is this Antec HDD fan an Intake or Exhaust?

I believe its an intake fan. If its not you can just flip the fans around and make it an Intake.

there is a difference between intake fans and exhaust fans? You don't just flip them?

EEK!

Three 40mm fans! 5500rpm @ 35 db (more like 50) for 5 CFM each!?!? I worked to get every 40 mm out of my case (the video card and north bridge), I wouldn't even think about ADDING them!

If you need more airflow into your case, and don't have room for a real intake fan, cut a hole out in the BOTTOM of the case to mount one. You just need to be sure the case is sitting on a solid surface (not carpet). You should easily be able to get an 8cm fan in, and maybe a 12! Mount near the front of the case, to blow cool air up at your hard drive or near the middle to help cool your video card. A 12cm fan can easily move 80 CFM, an 8cm fan 30cfm of air more quietly than those 3x4cm fans can move only 15CFM.

One more thing to consider; GENERALLY intake fans lower case temps, exhaust fans lower CPU temps. Which temp are you needing to lower? A faster/bigger fan in the rear might be all that is need if you have upgraded your heat sink and your CPU is still too hot.

Good luck,
Matt

I wanted to lower CPU temperatures when I start to overclock my P4 2.4c

Here is the case I have:
http://us.enlightcorp.com/products/server/detel.php?kind=servercases&serial=38

I was thinking of using that Antec HDD cooler as in Intake fan for my case. I was thinking of putting it on the 4th 5.25 bay from the top so it could blow air directly to the CPU.
The case fans I have in there so far are the 2 exhaust fans that came with the case and a 2COOLPC fan sucking air in from the 5.25 bay at the bottom.

TXMatt and everyone else,
What are your suggestions for replacements of my two exhaust fans that I have (that came with the case)?

I would take those two bottom 5" bay covers, glue them together and do a 120mm mod as shown in one of the other threads Here .
That should pump all the intake air you need.

No. Just click on my Profile icon to see where I live. It's so dreary here so much of the time that I think it's worthwhile pointing out the better days.
Now if it would just stop going down into the 30s at night like it did here this AM. Global warming? What global warming...
