I got that. Then I got a bit worried, so I changed the password to my eBay account.

just goto your bank and ask an OFFICIAL. I get those emails all day long. Some of the ebay ones look as legit as can be, even the "mouseover" text looks real, except for when you actually click the link. Best way to do it is to have a primary email address assigned to specific tasks, for example, bankofamerica@yourdomain.com, creditcard@yourdomain.com, etc. Just setup folders and rules in outlook and it'll be that much easier, and you won't have to worry about questionable emails.
