I received a recruiting message on LinkedIn for Amazon from someone named Job Abraria. I am having trouble trying to decide if this is a scam on not. The message sort of looks legitimate, but the guys name is Job. Is this the name Job (pronounced Jobe) or someone who put his name as Job to get hits or something?

Amazon in Austin And Seattle

Good afternoon. Your background and experience are prompting me to reach out. I recruit for Amazon and I’m interested in getting your resume to get an idea about your background and experience, and find out what you are looking for in a position.

My team and I are Hiring for both Austin area and Seattle Area and would be interested in meeting you. Let me know what date and times work for you to speak on the phone.

Look forward to hearing back from you. Please make sure to include your email and phone number and Resume.

Maybe ask him to provide some verification that he is an amazon employee? Like an email from an amazon.com domain. If he sends you an email to a google account, it should be easy for google to verify whether it is legit.

EDIT: You could also email him at that address and see if you get a response.

What is.... interesting is that he does not offer any details on the type of role you would be considered for. If you think about it, other than your name, this email could have been sent to 100s of people.

I get contacted by Amazon every couple of months on LinkedIn about them interviewing candidates in Baltimore for positions out in Seattle, and I tell them every time I am not interested in relocating to Seattle.

It looks like a typical phishing scam. He's only interested in gaining your info.

"Please make sure to include your email and phone number and Resume."
and "... for you to speak on the phone."

But he didn't leave His phone #

Dude, it's bad form to post someone's unaltered e-mail address on a public forum. You should really fix that.

Hi,

I was recently sent a LinkedIn message by the exact same guy saying my profile looked impressive and I could be a good fit for a lot of positions at Amazon! I had the same question in my mind..regarding his name 'Job'..seems too coincidental for a recruiter..I did a brief research before providing him my details. He seemed to have a valid Facebook and linked profile and an Amazon mail ID. So I went ahead and provided my resume (which has even a few personal details). After this there was absolutely no response from him whatsoever. I even wrote a follow-up message on LinkedIn.Still nothing!

Is there any update from your side on this? Did you hear back from him at all?

So He is LEGIT. Check his LinkedIn and you will get his Amazon email. I didn't get any message from him like most of the people in this thread but I mailed him my resume after seeing one of his posts in LinkedIn and got a call next day from AWS recruiter who said Job referred me for that position. So He is not only legit but pretty active too.
