Is this adapter card possible?

I made a mockup of the HyperX Predator PCIe adaptor. But I'm wondering if it's technically possible for M.2 (NVMe) based SSD's to share a PCIe lane?

I give you the HyperX Predator X3 adapter!

It's not x3, but these already exist

I don't think there is any technical limitation on the number of NGFFs on the card, but there is a maximum speed that the slot can handle.
A single XP941 is already bottlenecked by PCIe 2.0 x2. 2 of them would be bottlenecked on this adapter.

Awsome adapter :)
Edit: That adapter uses 2 PCIe lanes. It has a cable that connects the second M.2 slot to a second PCIe lane. So it's not the same as my mockup card.

That's why I made my mockup a 16x card. The idea is that each M.2 uses a 4x lane.
