Is this a WISE idear?

Yes. 🙂 Why do you want to put 2 products that are ATA33 at the most, on an ATA66 controller? You might even have problems getting them to work on the controller. Why not just put both of them on IDE2 on your motherboard?

What other IDE devices do you have, and are any of the hard drives ATA66 compatible?

[edit] My "Yes" reply is referring to your "think that this is a bad idear?" question, not the thread topic. 🙂

i have 4 HD running off my Motherboard.
Thats way i am looking into a ide Controller card.

I wont do this if i am going to end up with costers.

Ah, How big are the different hard drives, what are there RPMs, and which of them are ATA66 capable?

Also, in your post you mentioned already having an Acer 50x CD-ROM drive? How do you have a CD-ROM and 4 IDE hard drives, with a motherboard that can only handle 4 IDE devices? Or do you have 4 hard drives, but only a few of them in your system now? Or lastly, do you have a motherboard that already has an ATA66 controller on it along with the normal ATA33 controller??
