how do i make sure the 256 mb nvidia 8600 gt card is working correctly in my system?? I have a dual core 2 e6550 @2.33 ghz with 2 gigs of ram and windows xp...when i multitask the window will leave a blur or streak when im moving it around on my desktop..is this a vid card issue

Sounds like normal LCD panel motion blur, but you don't give any support system information, so that's a wild guess on my part.

Need system specs, information, etc.

In short, you have a low-quality LCD monitor. Due to the high response time, fast images leave little ghosts of themselves behind, thus ghosting.

Hi. heres the system i have, dell vostro 400 intel core 2 dup with 2 gigs of memeory and windows xp, 256 nvidia gforce 8600 gt vid card. The driver on the vid card was updated today and still having same issues. My monitor is a top of the line dell 20 inch ultrasharp 2007fp monitor...these are my specs as requested..please help....the online tech support is guessing vid card..is there a way to check the vid card with a online test

Dell monitors and the LCD panels they use isn't always consistent, I hear it's a crapshoot whether or not you actually get a good LCD panel (not the Dell model, it's just a frame) or not. You may have been unlucky in what LCD panel you got unfortunately. :(
