No, that just the old 74gb drive, it would be too tall for a laptop. It was replaced by the 150 & 300 GB series. And now those are being replaced by the 400 and 600GB versions

Velociraptor for the laptop would be an SSD :p

That's the same thing I thought when I read the thread title. VR's would produce to much heat and use to much power for use in a notebook, of course that's besides that fact they don't fit.

It is indeed a VelociRaptor, albeit one with a tiny capacity and minus the IcePAK.

Don't know about compared to notebook drives, but they don't really take up more power or create more heat than typical desktop 7200RPM drives.

Will it fit a laptop? Only if your laptop fits 15mm tall drives, which most will not.

They do get a bit warmer then a std laptop drive. My Sas 2.5" 10k drives require that I keep a fan blowing over them to keep temps down as well.
