Is this a true scary possibility?

It usually takes many days before the Trump's conviction hearing starts, and if the Attorney justice of New York starts a tax fraud hearing where Trump could end up getting arrested. is it possible for Trump when he leaves the White House to escape the country on the same day rather than going to Maralago? He did say he would have to leave the country if he lost.

It is a possibility and it would probably be the best case scenario as it could feel like trump is abandoning his followers and he could start to lose support. Then again his followers can excuse anything and will probably become more violent and defensive as their cult leader is being harassed by the government. I’m sure Russia will take an interest in him and whisper just the right things so he can instill further unrest in this country.

Fleeing the country would the best thing next to him having the big one. It would hopefully finally dis-enfranchise some of his devoted cult members, and quite possibly limit any further media exposure if he appears to be a pussy that ran away. Knowing his cult members, that's probably 35/65%

Wouldn't him fleeing be a huge national security crisis? I assume they can easily and quickly change all the codes and such, but certainly outgoing Presidents have certain secrets that could be damaging to our national security.

I believe it wouldn't; it would be JUST like stated earlier: his own minions will see HIM as a traitor and he'd instantly lose virtually all his power. That's what happens when the curtain opens....

I'd go further and make a deal with the (orange) devil: if you leave to Madagascar and NEVER come back, keep your mouth shut we won't prosecute you! Even if you convict him in the impeachment, you can still hold the civil cases over his head. Go away and shut up forever, or we'll put you in jail.

Vlad, I'll take state secrets for $10M*.

*Trump is dumb enough to sell out the US for so little.

"We were flying him and his adult children to an undisclosed safe location, when he suddenly jumped up, opened the door of the helicopter and they flung themselves out the door!"

Just order a drone strike to take him out
This makes you miss the old CIA when they would just quietly remove (from life) people who caused problems. He could "escape" to another country and just sort of dissappear after a week or two. They could even "let him back on Twitter" long enough for a nice farewell to his minions.

Yes, so it turns out to be a good thing that Trump never paid attention to his heavily abridged daily intelligence briefings.

From what Ive read all the codes are changed noon of inauguration day right before swearing in. Thats also when the football is passed.

Scary? Why? I've never assumed Trump will ever be held accountable for anything. GWB never was.

It's enough for me that he's out, though he'll be inciting racists for as long as he lives from whatever media outlet will have him. If he gets locked up, then icing on the cake. Mostly I'm relieved that his term is over, and now the fix-it-up projects can begin.

If he were a more intelligent, traitorous president, I might be more concerned about this. Considering they had to make picture boards for his briefings, I doubt he actually knows very much of concern.

If he wants to depart on Air Force 1, he has to do so BEFORE the inauguration. AFTER it, it's "just another ( very fancy) airplane," and technically, he would have to ask Biden for its use...

Right. Depending on timing, it could be tricky and complicated.

You actually gave me an idea for a comedy skit. Here it goes:

Sargent: "So how did the drone strike mission go in Russia. "
Army personal:"It was successful however when we did the drone strike there was some else with Trump. "
Sargent: "Well just make sure there is not another Chelsea Manning. We do not want the public to learn that a civilian was killed in this mission. "
Army personal:"It was not a civilian."
Sargent: "Then who was it. "
Army personal: "Well you see... *starts twiddling fingers* we did not know Putin was visiting him, when we drone striked the entire residence. "
Sargent:"Are you saying you took out Putin as well!!!"
Army personal: *Worried smile* "By accident."
Sargent: "Are you an idiot to think that you made a mistake. This is the best thing of all!!!! You get promotion of 5 ranks!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Army personal: "Five ranks, oh thank you!!!!!!!!"
Sargeant: "Your welcome, not need to thank me, you deserve it!!!!!!"

Right. Depending on timing, it could be tricky and complicated.

Really not that tricky or complicated at all....at least it wasn't when Nixon departed prior to Ford being sworn in. Nixon was on AF1 and half way across the U.S. when Ford was sworn in. At that moment, the plane's call sign changed from AF1 to SAM 26000, the plane's "real" call sign.

As an aside, Nixon also had SAM 27000 to pick from (the other, newer 707), but he preferred SAM 26000, the older of the two planes, for his family's travel. These planes aren't to be confused with SAM 28000 and SAM 29000, the two military 747's, or VC-25's, that replaced the 707's, or VC-137C.
