Yes.

1-800, 1-888, 1-877, and 1-866 are all toll free exchanges.

If it is a "free-trial" beware of them switching you over to a "for-pay" line.

Not a free trial. A prepaid card. :)

Anybody know of a company that gives low rates for international calls? I'm talking about 5-8 cents per minute??

Yes and N8Magic is correct all the prefixes beginning with 800, 888, 877, and 866 are all toll free.

If you're not sure the best way to find out is to use a pay phone, hmmn sharing someone else's nasty earwax = yummy.

/me happy that he has a Nokia 6190 cell phone :)

BigZoo.com may not have the absolute lowest rates BUT they do offer the overall best price, quality and service compared to all the other pre-paid plans I have tried. What countries are you going to be calling and what state are you in?

BigZoo pros:
Incredibly low domestic and international rates.
Good call quality.
Can buy phone time online in increments of $10, $20 and $50.
Your PIN is really easy to remember it's your 10 digit phone number plus 4 numbers (which they assign) after it.
Online billing - I love this feature it gives very detailed information for the past 4 months including the current month. It shows Date, Time, From phone #, To phone #, Minutes used, Rate per minute, and Amount.
You can recharge your PIN online.

BigZoo cons:
Since it's so popular and gaining thousands of new customers every month whenever you dial the 1-877 access number it can be busy but that's what your phone's REDIAL number is for. Just hit redial a few times and you will get through.
Sometimes the call quality to Asian countries isn't that great, nor Middle East or Australia - I use BigZoo a lot for work related calls.
