is this a successful overclock?

ok, it's of course faster than stock so it is at least mildly successful...

athlon 3200+ on k8n neo2 plat, gskill gble ram

i set the maximum bus speed at 200 (1:1 right?) which as i understand it is the most aggressive?
i am using a htt multiplier of 3x. i put the bus at 290 and have a mult of 8.5. mem is at 2.5-3-3-7-2T.

nothing would concern me but i am a little confused at some stuff i've seen; i've seen people with 273mhz buses on cpu-z with > 7GB sandra bandwidth. i've also seen people with similar specs as me outperform me in 3dmark03 as well. with my leadtek 6800 oc'd to 390/840 i am getting a in 10,832 3dmark03 and in 3913 in 3dmark05. my sandra results are below:

http://www.developer10.com/~mike/oc4.gif

on
http://www.developer10.com/~mike/oc1.gif
http://www.developer10.com/~mike/oc2.gif

any suggestions? do my numbers look right? i think the cpu was originall underclocked at 10x200, must be mobo default so you can ignore that first set of numbers in those benchmarks. am i maxing out what i can do, or am i completely missing the boat here on htt and the bus settings? i think i should have better 3dmax and memory bw scores.

what do you guys think/recommend?

TRUST ME: Don't run 1:1!!! If you set the devider to 166, and run 1T with the same timings you are now your bandwidth will increase.
I get over 7000 MB/s memory bandwith when the memory is running at 240MHz 2.5-4-4-7 1T, but my ram cant do that stable so I run it at 2-3-3-6 1T 190MHz. ALWAYS run at 1T, even if u have to lower the devider.
Run memtest to make sure your ram is stable.
GL,
Nick
EDIT: Try running at 166 devider, 2.5-2-2-7 1T. Ballistix can do it, im guessing yours can too. Your sandra scores will be insane :D

i tried lowering them a little, didn't make it into win once and now at underclocked/regular settings it is whining that system32\hal.dll is corrupt. what gives, why would it think that?

i'm at 2.5-3-3-10
275x9 htt3 166 - 6663
260x9.5 htt3 166 - 6188
260x9.5 htt3 200 - 6875

where do i go from here? i should be able to hit 7gb no?

270x9 htt3 200 - 7126
275x9 htt3 200 - 2.8v memory 1.63v cpu (cpu-z) 54C under prime95 (is that ok?) - 7269, prime95 failure after 3 hours, super pi after a minute :/

testing 273x9 now...

Well, I have a Socket 754 system, and at the specs below I get 10,800 MIPS, so that does seem a little low. Why are you concerned with high bandwidth? Do you do alot of bandwidth intensive tasks? Personally, I've found it's best to go the low latency route with A64's for overall performance. Your RAM seems to be able to do 2-2-2-5, so lower your CPU clock and keeping upping the FSB to see how high your RAM can go at those timings. Then, change your divider and HTT speed to reflect the setting. Also, that CPU should be able to do at least 2.5, if not 2.6GHz, try upping the CPU's speed too. If you're a gamer, you'll notice a great difference from running lower latency instead of higher speed.

afaik she's all about the 2470 or so area i'm in, most people push these easy to 2.5+? i'll trying tightening the CAS and see what i come up with.

Oh, whoops, just re-read your post and realized it was a S754 :p. Yah, then 2.5Ghz is going to be the thresh hold I'd imagine. What vcore are you at? I'd definitely go the low latency route though, see how high you can push the RAM

my max multi is only 10x and with that tightened CAS she's not too happy unless i'm only doing a 210 bus or so, is there something i am doing wrong there? ? what is your ram running at?

i'm honestly baffled at how this thing even runs stock - i thought a stock 3000 was 10x200 - i'm guessing my 3200+ should be 10.5 or 11x200 - i don't even have these mults?
