I haven't seen anything posted about this, but it seems like great news for OLEDs.
Dupont's new printing technique.
If/when this is adopted en masse would it not reduce prices and increase availability of OLEDs? What exactly are the hurdles in adopting them at the moment? From a quick review at Wikipedia it sounds like the materials themselves are expensive, and there are multiple issues with the blue diodes. In light of that, I'm guessing that improved printing processes (while nice) aren't as important as the previously mentioned issues. Are OLEDs even going to be the next "thing" or are they never really going to take off?
