Is this a scam?

Check out this site:
http://home.hedgestreet.com/

They claim to be a 'new age' trading website, now open to any income-level investor, not just big-wigs on Wall Street. However, when I read closely how their site works, it sounds a lot like gambling:

Q: What is a Hedgelet?
A: A Hedgelet is a financial instrument that is worth $10 if a specific outcome has occurred or $0 if the outcome has not occurred.

Read:

'casino HedgeStreet accepts bets on any type of event, with a certain hosue edge plus the commission for playing... err.. trading'

Am I missing something here? They posted a job req on Craigslist, but their practices seem to be very shady to me. I'm not sure what Wall Street has to do with their scheme, other than an attempt to look more legal...
